Summary
We did this climb over a three day (Labor Day, 2005) weekend from Portland, Oregon. Friday after work drove through most of the night to a rest area on I15 somewhere north of SLC. Few hours of sleep. Finished the drive on Saturday morning & did the short hike in. I recall Blondie getting quite sick, probably due to altitude. Passed folks on the hike who were bailing from The Cirque due to shitty weather. We lucked out & had great weather next day. Climbed the very fun route. Hiked out and drove home the third day.Photos

Starting the lead of pitch 3 of Northeast Face on Pingora. Typical morning weather - bright sun and blue skies.......doesn't last (Sept. 4, 2005).

Shirley topping out on pitch 5 (?) of Northeast Face route. The lower half of route all sort of blends in together as most pitches feel very similar to each other (low angle dihedrals; Sept. 4, 2005).

Leading pitch 6/7 per topo of Northeast Face route on Pingora. Climber above me is pulling through the 5.8 wide groove crux of the route. The 5.9 variation goes up the crack on the right thru. patches of grass (August 4, 2005).

Shirley topping out on pitch 9 of Northeast Face. This is at the mouth of a short (~20-foot) flaring chimney that starts off pitch 10 (Sept. 4, 2005).

Shirley topping out on the Northeast Face route just below the summit of Pingora. Mitchell Peak is in the background. Evil-looking clouds were building around us all afternoon but we never really saw much precip (Sept. 5, 2005

Wolfs Head as seen from the summit of Pingora...the classic East Ridge follows the ridge seen head on (Sept. 4, 2005).
