Go back to British Road Trip.
Go back to Orkney Islands.

The following morning, we caught a 6:30am ferry back to Thurso (Scrabster actually) on the mainland. Did some more grocery shopping and then leisurely drove some 4 hours (2.5 hours if you’re just driving) to our next “basecamp”, located just outside the village of Kinlochbervie on the north coast of Scotland. The weather was once again drizzly and cold with more of the same promised for the following day.
And so the next day, we drove about 2.5 hours across the Southern Highlands to the village of Clynelish and its distillery. This one sells most of its product to Johnny Walker and is a modern and a pretty soulless operation (and does no on-site casking). The forecast for the following day looked a bit better and so we made plans to try to climb The Old Man Of Stoer.
