Sanganeb Lighthouse.
In the morning, we headed out for a two-hour boat ride to Sanganeb Reef, part of a marine national park. There’s a small, manmade island on the reef atop which the British had constructed a lighthouse. An interesting place considering that you’re out “in the middle” of the Red Sea, some 30km from Port Sudan. We checked out the lighthouse and then went snorkeling for a couple of hours. Amazing! The reef is still farily pristine and the abundance of life is mind-blowing.
