Go back to Lovely Lofoten.

We were actually pretty worked and so decided to rest the following day. Did a bit of beach time – nice sandy bottom, clear and not too frigid water – and checked out the villages of Reine and Å at the southern endpoint of the E10 road that connects the islands. Two things struck us about driving in Norway. First, we knew before coming that the speeding tickets were quite expensive and so that nearly everyone drives at the speed limit; and I was the wanker driving 3km/h below. Second, the infrastructure is pretty impressive: much of the E10 which connects the topographically challenging Lofoten Islands consists of sizable bridges and long tunnels under both mountains and fjords. Kind of amazing considering the low population density of the place. The country’s wealth really shines here.
