American Fork Canyon

The general ambiance of American Fork Canyon in Utah (summer of 2002).

Sometime in the summer of 2002, Shirley & I (with Blondie of course) made our first trip to the Wind Rivers. The intention was to climb Gannett Peak (Wyoming’s highpoint). After a nice pack in, we got stormed off and the whole thing turned into a nice backpacking trip. On the way home, we spent a day and a half camping and “climbing” in Utah’s American Fork Canyon…well, mostly we passed the time falling off steep routes. The place does have a nice and cozy atmosphere though even if we have no desire to go back (single pitch climbing…).
