Go back to Idaho.
Summary
Shirley on Slippery Slope.
Early August already? Where did July go? Certainly not into climbing. Seems a bit of laziness, a touch of burnout and a pinch of boredom have crept into our climbing lives. Same old set of Friday night drives, same old set of trailheads, (mostly) same old set of PNW climbing TRs online that comes up every summer. We even once got bored off a climb 2 pitches up (yes, jaded f…ers perhaps). At least this here Slick Rock in western Idaho offered a new locale. Drove out Friday after work and were asleep at the TH by 2ish in the morning. On Saturday we picked the 8-pitch, 5.10-
Slippery Slope route, one of four established/reported lines on the 1200 foot face. Fun, low-stress slab climbing overall even if the middle two or three pitches were just low angle connectors. One line in this place is enough for us. After a pretty good Mexican dinner in McCall, we were home on Saturday night. Newness trumps quality.

Shirley on pitch 1 of Slippery Slope. This is probably the crux of the route and clocks in at 5.10- (Aug. 2013).
Low on Slippery Slope…think this is one of the lame pitches (2 or 3; Aug. 2013).
Though pitch 1 is good climbing the quality decreases on pitches 2 through 4 (here?) before picking up again on the upper half (Aug. 2013).
Shirley on the upper half of Slippery Slope…pitch 5 or 6. These upper pitches offer some fun slab climbing on pretty granite (Aug. 2013).
