Saying good-bye to Alexander.
In the morning it was a quick ride over to Keperveyem Airport where we ran into some issues with our luggage. Chukotavia was asking for about 3X the amount of money they had charged us on the way to Bilibino and the lady at the counter was threatening to not let us bring our stuff. This we’d only find out later from Alexander. We’d also find out that in addition to paying the exorbitant luggage fee, we had also paid for a nice bottle of wine to that same woman (because a nice bottle of Georgian Mtsvani goes well after a… f…ing some foreigners). Once done with Chukotavia, the remainder of the trip home went smoothly: an overnighter in Anadyr; an overnighter in Moscow which included some sightseeing; and soon enough we were reunited with my Mom and Benny and enjoying a nice, final day of our vacation on the Oregon coast.
