Go back to Parmakkaya.
Uchisar Castle.
We spent the following two days commuting some 90 minutes north to check out Cappadocia. The one upside of Covid is that tourist numbers have been temporarily culled. We enjoyed the “Red Tour” so much the first day that we came back for the “Green Tour” on the following day; a fascinating look into the rich history of the place. The underground city was probably the highlight. As we had learned many trips ago, meeting other travelers (climbers or not) can occasionally be a treat in itself. In this case we ran into a couple from Portugal who have done a North Korea trip not too long ago but, more impressively, have also done a diy trip to Venezuela last year.

For dinner, we went to a place recommended to us by our guide, Elif. It was the culinary highlight of the trip and, as we were the only customers, the service was first rate (August 2020).
