Go back to Egypt.
Go back to Crack The Skye.
Giza Necropolis.
We reached the very smoggy Cairo an hour and a half late since the flight was changed at the last minute to include a not-so-quick stop in Luxor. Our pre-arranged city tour guide, Max, was waiting for us with the driver. The sightseeing started with a visit to an excellent falafel shop followed by a drive out to see the Saqqara Pyramid and Memphis. We were impressed even with this “rev0 design”, stair stepped pyramid. From there, we drove out to the Giza Plateau for the main dish of the day: The Great Pyramids. We’ve been told by some that those would be underwhelming; and I thought we were the jaded ones. Actually, we were blown away. The lack of tourists helped I’m sure but the structures themselves were simply mind blowing. We got dropped off at our nice hotel in the afternoon – once again amazed at how far the dollar goes in these days of cholera.
