Go back to Central Mexico Quickie.

Charming streets of Aculco.
A red-eye to Houston followed by a quick hop to Queretaro in central Mexico. We grabbed our rental car and drove some 90 minutes to the Pueblo Magico of Aculco in the state of Mexico. We spent the afternoon on the usual Mexico tourist activities: walking around town, overeating and overdrinking. In the evening, Simeon and Carlos of SouthernXposure stopped by our hotel for a meet and greet. We had prearranged for Carlos to be our “guidebook” the following day in Aculco. Carlos (whose nickname is Mac) is a very experienced climber with big wall route FAs on all the inhabited continents. He is also a fountain of climbing beta for Mexico. And so helping us make the most out of a quick day in Aculco was only part of the reason for hiring these guys. I really wanted to chat with him about some other Mexico climbing ideas that have been floating around in my head.
