Misión San Javier.
That second night in Loreto kind of went sideways for us with much mezcal tasting and then a run to a local liquor store for some nightcap fodder. We got lazy the second day and did some tourist shit. Per our hotel owner’s suggestion, we hired a local boat (with captain Jorge) and did a quick tour of Coronado Island, which included some fishing. We then checked out the Misión San Javier up in the mountains some 45 minutes away from Loreto. To get there, we had to pass through no less than 2 police checkpoints on the mountain road whose main purpose seemed to be to remind us to wear face masks while in the pueblo. The place was quite scenic.
