Shirley on the 6th pitch of Peasant’s Route.
A quick weekend trip to Squamish. First, caught up on sleep on Saturday morning and then eventually hiked up to the base of
Mercy Street only to find it running with water (I guess it did rain a lot mid-week). Made our way down and to the crowded (isn’t everything sub-5.11 crowded there) Smoke Bluffs and climbed the well-reputed Smoke Bluff Connection:
S-M’s Delight (10b) to
Phlegmish Dance (5.8) to
Jabberwocky (5.10a) to
White Rabbit (5.10b; short detour that looked and was fun) and finishing with
Wonderland (5.9). On Sunday, hiked up to the Grand Wall and climbed the fun 6-pitch
Peasant’s Route (5.10). By the time you top out on pitch 3, you think you’re done but indeed there are 3 more pitches to go for the full experience. Nice route, easy descent.

More pitch 2 action (below the crux).
Pitch 3. We found it hard to believe we had 3 more pitches at this point (looks like the route is done).
Pitch 4 is a 4th class scramble up, over and down a small pedestal. The Grand Wall provides the background beauty (July 2014).
