Tasmania.
The forecast for the following day looked marginal and so we headed for the nearby Mount Wellington and its Organ Pipes Wall which overlooks Hobart. We picked a line called
Battle Cruiser (18) on the Central Buttress (the highest aspect of the cliff). The lines look a bit chossy and flakey from the base but our route turned out to have solid rock and very fun climbing. The conditions were pretty alpine and we were shivering at belays. For a suburban crag, the rap descent was a touch pain in the ass and we felt done after the route’s two pitches.
