Views from Patricia.

A late wake up the following morning and a quick hike up to Patricia, a 6 pitch 6a+ route with the crux coming on the first pitch. We figured we’d need a couple of days to at least try and acclimatize a little to the altitude before heading up canyon. The first pitch was the crux, the second pitch was somewhat interesting but the rest were sort of overgrown and just OK – fun outing overall even if we’re not sure it deserves its high guidebook quality rating.

Los Arenales

Very complex. I’m getting notes of gooseberry, lavender, and caramel. The mid-palate is amused by the wine’s insouciance and there’s a slightly impertinent corrugated iron finish. Touch angular yet still chewy.

The Argentine salami really was the centerpiece of each dinner (Dec. 2016).
