Over the Fourth of July weekend in 2005, Shirley & I made plans to climb the North Ridge of Mount Stuart. We hiked in on day 1 and camped below Ingalls Lake. The day was overcast and the pre-dawn hours featured high winds and very chilly temps. We slept in and climbed the East Ridge of Ingalls Peak as a tiny consolation prize. Though rated 5.7, it’s mostly a low 5th class affair but a very scenic one with the south face of Mount Stuart dominating the view. We hiked out that day and drove to Leavenworth where we climbed Outer Space (III 5.9) on Snow Creek Wall the next day.
