Go back to Harau Valley Part Three.

In the morning, we drove some 90 minutes to a crag called Mount Bongkok where we wanted to try a route called Letjen Of The Fall, a 2-pitch 6b. The hike up to the base took about 45 minutes and we were worried about the rock being wet given the significant rain the night before. The route itself turned out to be dry. The andesite was beautiful but the overhanging pitch 1 was very stiff for us and much of it got dogged. Pitch 2 was more slabby but with its own challenges (albeit of a different flavor than pitch 1). We topped out and rapped down quickly as the dark clouds were building and we did not want to do the already slick hike down in the rain. Barely made the little home stay at the trailhead before the skies opened up. We then drove onwards to the city of Bandung where we’d spend the next two nights.
