Harau Valley. After another 15+ hour trans-Pacific crossing on Singapore Airlines (this time from SFO), we arrived in Jakarta late on Sunday night. A quick nap in the airport hotel and a 90 minute flight put us in Padang, a city in West (more like central) Sumatra the following morning. From there, we were driven about 3 hours to Harau Valley in the interior of the island. Here we stayed in a place called Abdi Homestay that was recommended to us by Joulee. Very nice indeed: a bunch of basic bungalows scattered at the base of a 250 meter tall waterfall.
