On The Road.

The crew picked us up from our hotel (same one as in 2019) promptly at 6:30 to start our daylong drive north to Pedra Azul in the state of Espírito Santo.   We were pleasantly surprised that all of our collective gear and five adults were able to fit in the rented station wagon; though the roof did end up getting a bit dented although not irreversibly!  About 2-3 hours before our destination, we started seeing some amazing formations:  large and steep granite domes and spires.  We arrived just after dusk and, after unloading the junk show at the Airbnb, headed out to a local brewpub for dinner.  The entire area around the base of Pedra Azul is a posh little resort for a set of city folk to enjoy the scenery and cooler weather at higher altitude.
