Summary

Peregrine Traverse

Following P5 of Peregrine Traverse beneath Lunch Rock (above me, October 1, 2004).

In October of 2004, we drove out from Portland Friday night after work. Slept in truck at TH. Hiked in at 8 on Saturday expecting a full day of climbing…….the hike in took about 1 hour, the climb took us ~3+ hours…descent took another hour. We thought about doing something else on the formation but then we remembered that we had family coming to town on Sunday am….headed back to PDX instead.

Signing the summit register on pitch 9 of Peregrine Traverse...couple more pitches to go though. This is top of Black Magic route apparently.

Peregrine Traverse

Belaying from the end of a knife-edge ridge atop P10 of Peregrine Traverse route. Acker Rock Lookout is behind me and is (most likely) the true summit of Acker Rock (October 1, 2004).

Peregrine Traverse

Shirley rapping from top of Peregrine Traverse route - one short but VERY awkward (at start) rappel (this was the crux of the route in fact) brings you to class 2 terrain which you hike to the top (i.e. summit lookout via pit toilet route, October 1, 2004).

Shirley and Blondie relaxing above the Sun Bowl after our climb of Peregrine Traverse.....then again Blondie did not do the climb so I guess Blondie is relaxing after relaxing. Umpqua River Valley is below (October 1, 2004).

Peregrine Traverse

Interesting growth we saw on the approach to Acker Rock.
