On our final day, we climbed a 2 pitch route called What Goes Up Must Come Down (5b) on Tiger’s Corner. Sharp AF but otherwise quite aesthetic. Just as we were getting used to karst limestone trad (an initially unnerving experience), the climbing was done. We got to try stand up paddle boarding in the afternoon – liked it so much that Shirley’s thinking about getting a couple of boards at home. We were back in Hanoi that evening and once again too late to sample the recommended eateries. I have to add that the food on Cat Ba was very underwhelming – too touristy perhaps and we did not have solid beta on where to go that would be more local.
