Go back to China Failure.

Topping Out.
After a short night in a hotel (same one that we had stayed at 9 years earlier), we met Karen, our HK fixer, in the lobby and started our day with some dim sum. Very good indeed and a big reason we wanted to spend a few days in Hong Kong. After that, we took the MTR (subway) to the Yau Tong station and then hiked uphill for some 20 minutes to the base of Lingnan Slabs. The goal for the day was a route called The Fog Of War clocking in at 6a+; 7 short pitches and, at 140 meters in length, the longest route in HK according to the guidebook. Well-protected, fun climbing on crisp, black granite above some high rises. We were very jet lagged and sweating like pigs in the southeast Asian heat and humidity. Karen met us on top and we hiked down together.
That evening, we did a bit of exploring of our local neighborhood and made climbing plans for the following day.

Benny had a bit of an incident followed by a surgery right before our trip. Really added to our stress (May 2025).
