In July 2007, we were faced with a 3 day weekend. We were trying to decide between going for something on the Diamond in Colorado (got the permits already!) and staying home and taking advantage of great early July weather forecast in North Cascades. Unfortunately, we went for the latter and failed on our objective. As a consolation prize we hiked up Eldorado’s (classic) snow route (East Ridge). Nice outing and of couse the views…still, should’ve gone for the plan A.
