Go back to Tasmania.
Go back to Freycinet 1.

Both we and the weather settled into a day-on, day-off pattern. Our next day trip brought us back to Ben Lomond where we climbed the beautiful 5-pitch Laendler (20) route on the Rock A Day Johnny buttress. Perfect conditions and crack climbing ranging from hands to fingers (crux). Great position and a scenic hike along the top of the Ben Lomond Plateau.
All this time, we’ve been monitoring the weather on the west side of the island looking for a window. Our hope was to climb something on the amazing-sounding Frenchmans Cap mountain. Seemingly a 3 day window was about to open up. We drove 3.5 hours to the very wild west side of Tasmania on the promised day. We found 100 meter visibility at the trailhead. We waited till noon trying to decide whether it was a marine layer & about to burn off or something more persistent. Things seemed to worsen and we decided to use our remaining days on Tassie on different climbs. A shame but such is our weather luck…
