Summary
Lucie and Eric at the base of the Main Wall.
A very fun weekend of climbing at Trout Creek with our friends Eric & Lucie who were visiting from Boulder. Went to the Main Wall on Saturday for the first time since 2007 and holy shit – Zoo Creek is probably a more fitting name for the place these days. Suppose it’s understandable given the quality of the climbing. Less understandable is the forest of perma top ropes. Seems once a route is put up, everyone in the group gets to ride including grandma and cousin Joe “who’ll be back from the shitter in like literally 15 minutes ‘K?”… On a positive note, the climbers (& boaters it seems) are largely a civilized bunch and the campground was surprisingly quiet at night. What the photos below don’t show is that Eric & Lucie also climbed
The Space Between on the Main Wall.

Went elsewhere on Sunday and enjoyed solitude and great climbing. Lost track of time and were home just shy of midnight – an uncharacteristic level of enthusiasm for us as far as local cragging goes. Something no-doubt imported by our Colorado friends. Primo company and good climbing (esp. Sunday)!
