Joshua Tree.
As somebody had a work-related conference in LA starting Sunday afternoon, somebody else decided to tag along and try to squeeze in a bit of climbing out of the first 2/3rds of our weekend. Big Red Rocks plans turned into a Joshua Tree quickie as Friday night flights were severely delayed and we found ourselves catching a few hours of sleep at an I15 rest area at 3 in the morning and still an hour shy of Vegas. Climbed the attractive, 3-pitch
Bird On A Wire route (10a; our only Jtree route to date) as a tiny consolation prize. Fun stuff, unique and pretty setting, great weather but the delicate smeary granite climbing takes a bit of getting used to…
