Summary
Shirley somewhere on the East Ridge of Ingalls with the nighty Stuart in the background.
Over the Fourth of July weekend in 2005, Shirley & I made plans to climb the
North Ridge of Mount Stuart. We hiked in on day 1 and camped below Ingalls Lake. The day was overcast and the pre-dawn hours featured high winds and very chilly temps. We slept in and climbed the
East Ridge of Ingalls Peak as a tiny consolation prize. Though rated 5.7, it’s mostly a low 5th class affair but a very scenic one with the south face of Mount Stuart dominating the view. We hiked out that day and drove to Leavenworth where we climbed
Outer Space (III 5.9) on Snow Creek Wall the next day.

Shirley somewhere midway up the East Ridge. This is looking roughly west. The ridge you see in the background - I THINK - is called Jack Ridge and it extends from Mt. Stuart (out of photo on right; July 3, 2005).
Nearing the only mid-5th class move (8 feet of it?) on the entire East Ridge. This is about 150 feet before the summit (July 3, 2005).

Yours truly on the upper part of East Ridge. I'm just above the 5.7 move of the route. Photo taken from the summit of Ingalls. Ingalls Lake is below; southern slopes of Mt. Stuart are in the background. For view looking the opposite way, see here (July 3, 2005).
