l’Allumeur Du Reve Berbere

l’Allumeur Du Reve Berbere.

Next day we hiked up a semi-technical slot canyon (including a short bolt ladder section put in as replacement of a collapsed Berber bridge) hoping to climb the l’Allumeur Du Reve Berbere route (8 pitches, 6b+). The first three pitches involved some enjoyable climbing despite baking in the sun. The fourth pitch, a 6b+, was quite a struggle for me. After fighting my way to the anchors, Shirley was able to follow it in much better style. Looking at the continuity of 6b climbing terrain above and the rising temperatures, we decided to bail. Two days in Taghia and I can’t really say that we were enjoying the climbing. Most certainly not what we’d call the golden colored El Potrero Chico. On the third day, we did a longish hike through the surrounding area including a descent down a narrow gorge above the village. Scenic and with ample opportunity to cool off in a pretty alpine stream. It was here that we decided to try one more climb and then leave Taghia and check out Todra Gorge instead.
