Tide Country

Leading the very fun Tide Country (5.10a) route on the Upper Breadloaves formation in Idaho's City Of Rocks (May 2009).

Shirley, Blondie & I did another quick weekend road trip to the City Of Rocks. Unfortunately, this time the weather did not fully cooperate and we were squeezing in some climbing inbetween rolling showers. Got a handful of routes in though with the favorite of the weekend being Tide Country (5.10-) and my fall off of Interceptor providing the other memory filler. Shirley had too much fun on Too Much Fun…that is after I preclipped the first high (too high for small folks 🙂 ) bolt.

Lost Pioneers

Lost Pioneers

Leading the nice Lost Pioneers (5.10a) on the Upper Breadloaves formation in Idaho's City Of Rocks. A nice if ledgy (i.e. well protected but best not to fall in places) route (May 2009).

Interceptor

...and out of business!! Spit off by the Interceptor route on the Breadloaves formation in City Of Rocks...why I nearly puked myself from the effort! Pretty Tide Country (5.10-) is just to the right. Crack on the left is apparently 5.12 (May 2009).

Too Much Fun

Flaming rock with its classic Raindance (5.7...which we have not done) as seen from the top of the Too Much Fun route.

New York Is Not The City

New York Is Not The City

A nice 10a sport line on Bumblie Rock...something to do while there but not worth the hike by itself (May 2009).
